Registration for XAT 2023 has been initiated by XLRI. The XAT exam is considered to be the second most important MBA entrance test in India (after CAT). It is accepted by XLRI, one of India's premier business schools, and by multiple other business schools such as IMT, XIBM, TAPMI, MICA (in addition to MICAT), Great Lakes, GIM, KJ Somaiya, etc.

The XAT exam will be held on Sunday, 8^nd January across 80 cities.

The registration started on 10^th August and will end on 30^th November, on https://xatonline.in/.

The XAT exam is 180 minutes, including 15 minutes for GK. The remaining time is for Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, Verbal & Logical Ability and Decision Making. Decision Making is a unique section which is present only in XAT. Overall, there are 100 questions to be solved across these sections. There is no sectional timer (excepting for GK, which occurs in 15 minutes at the end of the exam). The XAT percentile does not include the GK performance, that is considered separately for shortlisted candidates only.

XAT has Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with 5 choices each. The marking scheme is +1 for every correct answer and -0.25 for each error. In addition, XAT deducts 0.1 marks for every unattempted question after 8 questions. These aspects are expected to remain the same in this year.

XLRI is considered to be among the best business schools for HR, but their Business Management program is also very good. This makes XAT one of the important exams to crack, and you should start preparing for XAT alongside CAT right away. XLRI looks at the XAT score, Academic scores and diversity (non-engineers), Work experience, GD/PI performance and Gender diversity while selecting students. XLRI also has a Delhi NCR campus which was started in 2020.
