The IIMs (Indian Institutes of Management) have announced the details of CAT (Common Admission Test) 2022.

CAT 2022 will be conducted on November 27, 2022 in 3 sessions. The test is expected to be for 2 hours like CAT 2020 and CAT 2021, as 3 sessions have been announced.

CAT scores are a must for admissions to the Post Graduate Programmes in the 20 IIMs. Many other Business Schools also accept the CAT score (a list of some of these institutions is available at http://www.iimcat.ac.in/).

Registration for CAT 2022 will start on August 3 at 10:00 am and will end on September 14 at 5:00 pm. The CAT registration form includes the application for the 20 IIMs and their different programmes. The admit cards will be shared with students before the exam, confirming the respective slot and centre. There are around 150 test cities where the CAT will be administered. Candidates can select 6 cities where they want to take the exam.

CAT results are expected to be released during the second week of January 2023. The CAT 2022 score and percentile is only valid until December 31, 2023.

Each IIM is independent and may set its own qualifying requirements and selection procedures. A significant factor for consideration in the selection process is the CAT 2022 exam performance. When shortlisting candidates at different phases of the selection process, IIMs may additionally take into account a candidate's prior academic performance, relevant work experience, and other factors of a similar nature. Each IIM will share the details of their shortlisting and selection criteria separately.
