Hi Vineeta, pursuing an MBA is as much of an investment in your career as education. Some of the criteria that you can use to decide include - your work experience, placements, fees, profile and marks scored in MBA entrance tests.

Firstly in terms of Job security and placements, Indian institutions offer jobs more easily compared to universities abroad but, the average salary of a student who has completed an MBA from some of the best b-schools in India ranges from INR 23 lakhs-25 lakhs. On the other hand, completing your MBA from renowned universities abroad can get you a salary of more than INR 80 lakhs.

A top bschool overseas (eg Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, London Business School) are ranked much above IIMs. They have been present longer and you will also access diverse viewpoints as there will be students from all over the world. However, the requirements for such bschools are tougher - high GMAT score, good profile, at least 6-8 years of work-ex for Indians, very high fees, etc.

If you are not able to meet these minimum requirements, try your best to crack CAT, XAT and other exams to get through a good bschool in India such as IIMs, XLRI, FMS, IITs, etc.

All the best for your prep!
