MockCAT-12-Discussion

  • 9 Sep '22

I've completed all the concepts in both arithmetic and algebra. And i think i've practiced enough questions in those chapters. But i'm getting very low scores in quant and i've scored negative mark in MockCat 12 quant. And also i am not getting the correct approach while i start to solve a question. Could someone suggest me something to improve my quant scores....?

Hey Michael Rosario, I found the difficulty of Mock 12 DILR Easy to Medium. I solved the last two cases during the test and tried to solve the 1st case but didn't have enough time to solve the case. Later, I tried the other two unattempted cases and got both of them. The questions in the first case is slightly tricky but if you go with the right approach, then you can definitely solve that one within 10 to 12 mins.

Definitely true I felt the same way, I was able to solve the 2nd and 3rd case. Didn't attempt the last case as I didn't find time.

I felt the difficulty level is medium as there were 2 cases which can be solved in 30 - 35 minutes.
An equivalent attempt in CAT exam will get us 85 - 90%ile.

I felt it to be at par with CAT. But i dont think we can judge CAT 2022 based on our mock right. We don't know the difficulty level. Btw how you guys found the last case in DILR. I got like 2 or 3 possibilities and left the case there lacking the confidence to proceed further doubting whether i am doing it correct or wrong. Any did it in the exam?

Hi! I took Mock 12 and I got a pretty good score. I felt the difficulty of the overall paper was Medium. It had a mix of easy, medium and hard-level questions in all three sections. I took some time to pick the right questions and solved them. Can we expect the same difficulty level paper in CAT 2022 also?

Hey Nawfal! Even I made the same mistake and wasted a lot of time in Mock 12. But, After the test, I tried that problem again and got the right answer. I think we have made this mistake by going too fast and not reading the question properly. I hope this mistake would eventually make us pay more attention to the questions.

Did anyone solve 12th question in quant? Usually these questions will only state what is the time taken when escalator is stationary but this one had the person stationary. Didn't noticed this and wasted a lot of time in the exam not getting the answer. Does any one also did the same thing?
