Are sectionals equally important as full-length mocks?

What should I do if I am not getting the answer to a question within 2 mins in quant? Should I skip it?

Hey Sharmila, yes, sectionals can be a good exercise for you to boost your score in a particular section. It can save you sometime when you feel you can't take the full 2 hours mock but need to test yourself in, say, DILR. In those times sectionals can give you a quick idea on where you stand on that section. So please consider sectionals as important as mocks and make use of them. All the best for your prep.

Hey, Reena Suresh! CAT has questions from different difficulty levels. It is fine even if you don't get answers to some questions. Initially, All you need to do is pick the easy questions for you and solve them during the exam. Keep the Medium and Hard level questions for later. Taking 2 - 3 minutes is still a good time to solve the questions if you have good accuracy. Also, It is important to analyze and solve the questions that you found hard during the exam. It is important to analyze to know what are all your strength and weakness. From there you can work on and improve your speed and accuracy. All the best, Reena.

I am able to solve questions without a timer but with a timer, I am not able to focus on the questions. How do I get rid of this?

Hi Nirmal L! Non-RCs are as crucial as the Verbal ability part. The thing that you need to know is in Non-RCs, you don't have negative marks for non-MCQ type questions. So if you get a good hang of Para jumbles and odd one out, you can easily improve your marks in this area. At the same time, you should know that CAT has 4 reading comprehensions each with 4-5 Questions. So even if you solve RCs with higher accuracy and get good marks in Non-RCs, you can easily crack this section.

  • 5 Sep '22

Hi Deepika, the key areas to focus on when it comes to CAT is Numerical reasoning, Matching and arrangements, Data interpretation, Selections and ranking, teams and events, Bar graphs, Pie-charts etc. Please note that these are all based on past papers and the question type and case types are subject to the exam setters. Please have a grip on all of these and practice more unusual sets. For more info regarding this visit https://www.mockat.com/infozone/exam/cat/. All the best
